Imphal, January 19, 2006: The Zomi Human Rights Foundation, Delhi Cell has expressed its indignation over the reported occupation of certain villages under Tipaimukh Sub-division, Churachandpur District by a proscribed UG group causing immense hardship to innocent villagers.
In a statement the rights body alleged that the UG group is laying complete siege on the villages preventing the injured from evacuating during the shoot-out at Parbung on January 6.The rights body also appealed to the concerned to immediately vacate the villages they have been occupying in the interest of peace and tranquility in the region.
