Imphal, March 21, 2006: The Justice SP Rajkhowa Inquiry Commission has issued public notices for it to go ahead with the investigation into the allegations of sexual molestation of M Naobi Chanu while in the custody of Thoubal police commandos as well as the mass rape of Hmar women by underground cadres at Churachandpur on January 16 this year.
The notifications endorsed by the Secretary of the two panels, Kaminikumar Singh, asked the interested parties/persons to submit their written affidavits pertaining to the two incidents within 14 days to the Commission, official sources said.
The proceedings of the two Judicial Inquiries will be carried out at Hotel Imphal where Justice (Retd) Rajkhowa is staying.
The State Government has set a time frame of two months to complete the inquiry.
On the other hand, Chief Minister O Ibobi along with some of his Cabinet colleagues is set to visit Parbung and Thanlon on March 28 to address a public meeting and to inspect Government offices.
Lungthulien under Parbung police station is the village, where the militants allegedly raped 21 Hmar girls.
