Imphal, March 23, 2006: Taking serious note of the alleged mass rape at Churachandpur district on Jan 16 by UG cadres, the Senapati District Students’ Association has condemned the bestial treatment meted out to Hmar women.
A statement issued by the Association asserted that some UG cadres are indulging in looting, intimidation and torture of innocent civilians even though they claimed to be struggling for liberation of Manipur.
While observing that such heinous crimes perpetrated by some UG cadres have soiled the name of Manipur, it pledged all possible support to the mothers of CCpur fighting against injustice and urged the State for promptly action.
