Imphal, August 14, 2006: The Hmar Women Association will be observing Mass Prayer session on August 20 to express solidarity to the 21 women molested by underground activists and also decided to black out lights for 28 minutes starting 9 pm the following day.

The HWA in a press statement said, the victims have been made to undergo hardships with the Justice Rajkhowa report yet to initiate any action after two months of the enquiry and also to add to the woes to the victim are cross -examination of the victim by Human Rights Alert and Manipur Forward Youth Front activist will put the victim another trial and tribulation, who had suffered enough.

The HWA charged that the 28 women were raped and tortured by underground UNLF and KCP cadres on the night of January 2006 at Lungthulien, Parbung and adjoining villages of Tipaimukh sub-division in Churachandpur district. Justice Rajkhowa Commission began probe to the incident on March 13, 2006.
