Imphal, September 22, 2006: Hmar Inpui – Hmar Supreme House and four other Hmar bodies; Hmar Youth Association, Hmar Students’ Association, Hmar Chiristian Leaders’ Forum and Hmar National Union in an emergency meeting held early today took great exception to the statement issued to the press by Hmar National Assembly/Army on Friday last.
A declaration signed by heads of the four organization and VF Tusing, Secretary and HK Joute, President Hmar Inpui maintain that it ’strongly condemned all the points raised therein and finally declared our firm resolve to live together with all our neighbouring communities in perfect peace and harmony.’
It may be noted that HNA has threatened to issue quit notice to the Meitei community in Churachandpur if the State Government failed to address their demands to rehabilitate Hmar refugees before 30th September, 2006.
