Imphal, February 04, 2007: The proscribed UNLF claimed that its MPA cadres attacked a convoy of security personnel at a spot in between Hengshi and Holenjang in Chandel district today at about 3.30 pm.
During the attack, the MPA cadres fired a direct hit on the vehicle leading the convoy with a rocket launcher and claimed that it must have have led to heavy casualties. PRO of PIB (DW) on being contacted said that one AR jawan was hurt in the attack and added that in the search ops launched later, two IEDs were recovered. The jawan is stable.
