Imphal, March 10, 2007:Informing that two UG cadres were killed and one SLR, ammunition and war like stores recovered during the five day long operations launched in Molvailup-Aishi area, Assam Rifles claimed to have given a serious blow to UNLF.
Quoting sources the PRO of AR in a statement put the death toll on the part of UNLF to 7/8 besides claiming to have injured 20-25 other UG cadres, some of them seriously. Unable to withstand the onslaught of security forces, the UG cadres fled towards Myanmarese territory to take refuge there.
Further, the successful AR operation has dealt severe blow to the morale of various UG outfits and around 15 of them have deserted their camps with about 18 weapons, it said.
