HWA revives rape issue, threatens poll boycott

Lamka, January 12, 2007: Hmar Women Association, a fore front organization in taking up the mass rape allegation case of Hmar women at Tipaimukh is all set to revive the issue as it completes one year on January 16.A leaflet issued by HWA today declared that January 16, the day the alleged crimes were committed would be observed as a ‘day of sorrow’ by staging sit-in-protest and fasting. UNLF claims two security personnel killed

685 villagers from Mizoram refugee camp already rehabilitated: Govt

Imphal, October 23, 2006: A total of 685 people of 155 families of different villages of Tipaimukh sub-division of Churchandpur district who fled and took asylum at Sakawrdai refugee camp in Mizoram have so far returned to their respective villages.
